Italian Wineries of Excellence and International Markets: the Partnership Between Freschi&Bufano Wine Merchants & Co. and Paestum Wine Fest Kicks Off

By Novella Talamo

The Paestum Wine Fest, the largest business trade fair in Central and Southern Italy and one of the most highly anticipated events in the wine world—bringing together producers, buyers, Ho.Re.Ca. operators, and industry communication and marketing professionals—will take place next week from March 1 to 3.

Among this year’s new features is the participation of Freschi&Bufano Wine Merchants & Co., a company specializing in the selection and promotion of quality wines on the international market. At the heart of the company are Sabatino Bufano and Ugo Freschi, leading a team of motivated and skilled young professionals, recently joined by sommelier Andrea Moscariello in the role of Brand Ambassador.

During the three-day event at the Hotel Ariston, visitors will be able to obtain detailed information about the group’s activities at a dedicated desk managed by Andrea Moscariello. On Tuesday, March 3, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Sabatino Bufano, CEO of Freschi&Bufano, will contribute to a special masterclass moderated by Davide Gangi, entitled “USA and Beyond: Why the Future of Italian Wine Must Be Diversified.” The session will analyze the performance of Italian wine in international markets, with particular focus on the United States and the current tariff situation.

Other distinguished speakers taking part in the masterclass will include Karin Meriot, Charlie Arturaola, Alessandro Rossi, Vincenzo Russo, and Leonardo LoCascio (joining remotely). Sabatino Bufano will bring his strong international vision and extensive experience gained over many years of fostering dialogue between outstanding wineries and global markets.

The partnership between Freschi&Bufano Wine Merchants & Co. and the Paestum Wine Fest is therefore a strategic one, built on shared values, mission, and vision. It brings together diverse expertise within a common strategy aimed at strengthening the connection between small and medium-sized Made in Italy wine producers and key players in the export sector, including buyers, importers, and international opinion leaders.

Central to this joint effort by multiple stakeholders is the storytelling of territories, traditions, winemaking families, and the many other facets that make Italian wine so fascinating and complex—and for this very reason so highly appreciated in foreign markets.

The appointment is therefore set for March 1 to 3 in Paestum, for a journey discovering products, people, and territories that are protagonists of the world of quality wine, as well as the opportunities for dialogue and interaction beyond the borders of the Peninsula.
